Portrait of my Heart

In the past month, I have be painting almost each night.  I have been working to expand my creativity instead of wasting my brain on Angry Birds and Solitaire while watching TV.   It is incredible to see the difference between my first painting and the progress I have made in only a month's time.  The colors, the brush strokes, and the fine details have all drastically improved.  I have made loads and loads of mistakes in the last month also.  I have wasted a ton of paint and lets suffice it to say that my paintings are filled with layer upon layer of correction.

Each time I paint I get better.  I have found that I play with creating different colors.  Sometimes I just work on my blending.  I find myself reading articles online about painting and books in hobby stores.  I look for different pictures that I would love to try to paint.  I consider landscapes worth taking a picture of for paintings.  Isn't it interesting that as my passion for painting develops so too does my desire to know more about it and improve the craft.

It is the same with your relationship with Jesus.  The more your passion for Christ increases the more you will want to know about him.  The more you will want to read about Him.  The more you will want to pray and talk with Him.  The more your life will begin to look like Him.  "As a man thinketh, so is he."  Proverbs 23:7  "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory."  Isn't amazing our God designed us to be passionate about what we love.  What is the love of your heart today?

Blessings,

Greg

P.S.  In case you were wondering, the picture is of my palette and not a painting ;OD
