Long Day at Work
Today was an incredibly long day at work. I worked an eight hour shift and then attended a three hour Master Gardener class as a part of my job training. I am so thankful that Jesus sustains me even on incredibly long days like today. I know surviving a day that long without depending on the Lord isn't special but the thing is that I could not make it through a day that long and have joy without Jesus. He is the one who keeps joy in my heart. He is the only reason I can have a smile on my face. It is on days like these that I really understand Colossians 3:23, which says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."
In whatever you face daily are you doing it unto the Lord? Are you depending upon Him for your strength, joy, peace, and ability? If not, I guessing that some of those long days have birthed in you resentment, frustration, and exhaustion. I hope you will lay everything before the Lord tonight and allow Him to fill you with everything you need daily. Jesus said, "whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Blessings,
Greg
